Finding the Best Night Facial Creams – What’s the Secret?

Summary by Jason P. Michaels, edited by Ferdinand Rinaldy

When was the last time you found the best night facial cream (or any skin care product for that matter) your first time around? Finding the best night facial creams is all about doing your due diligence beforehand. Besides straight luck, this is what separates the happy people with the best night facial creams and the frustrated people with ineffective ones.

Here are some useful tips that’ll guide you to the best night facial creams:

*Stop looking for skin care products at your local pharmacy or department store. *Go with night facial creams that are made with all natural and organic ingredients. *Try to forget about price when looking for the right anti-aging solution. Higher-end products are usually made with better (and higher concentrations of) ingredients, which is what ultimately makes the best night facial creams effective.

Without effectively addressing these issues, you’ll never get rid of aging signs and prevent them from forming in the future.

Why Aren’t You Using the Right Facial Cream?

Summary by Laurel Levine

Natural ingredients are safer and more effective than their synthetic counterparts. Mineral oil and petrolatum, at one time, took the place of natural plant oils, which had been used since ancient times to soften, smooth and soothe irritated skin.

Today’s better facial cream contains many of those ancient plant oils. Ingredients like Shea butter, jojoba oil, avocado, wakame kelp, grape seed oil, olive oil and active Manuka honey are being seen more frequently. Plant oils, fruits and honey have antioxidant activity. Antioxidants prevent and repair free radical damage. The reason that petrolatum cannot moisturize is because crude oil, the raw ingredient, is not similar to the skin’s own oils. Plant oils are very similar to sebum. Shea butter is nearly identical. Shea butter is typically recommended for nighttime facial cream. Grape seed oil is a better ingredient for active day creams. Petrolatum is not the only bad ingredient that cosmetic companies commonly use. A well informed consumer can easily find a safe and effective facial cream, as long as she reads the label of ingredients.
